Embarking on a political campaign is no easy task. With the onslaught of media ads flooding the commercial airways, it can be hard to differentiate oneself from other political candidates. One way to remedy this would be to turn to a different form of advertising: promotional products.

Promotional products have been involved in the political market for quite some time. From bumper stickers to campaign signs, there is no doubt that candidates realize the importance of seeing ones name on a daily basis. However, the days of simply putting sign in the front yard may not be enough; candidates must go a step further and brand more memorable promotional products.

Without a doubt political promo is sure to make its mark, but I think we have reached a day when people almost expect to see t-shirts, buttons, and signs. Therefore, the unexpected is necessary.

Generating Awareness

Without a doubt, one of the most important things one can demonstrate to his/her voters is awareness. Not only of the big issues, but also the small day to day occurrences (especially at his/her own events). If you have an outdoor show and fail to recognize the need for sunscreen, water, and other outdoor essentials, then its safe to say that you are missing out on a golden promotional opportunity. Laying out a plan

If there was one thing I could see from a candidate before I vote, it would be their plans for office. An excellent way to accomplish this using promotional products would be to hand out calendars or planners with loads of information about their candidacy. Not only for the race, but in the months and (in some cases) years after election. I think that most would be completely reassured when they hold in their hands what one plans to do if elected. This takes all those words spoken in advertisements to the next level.

Of course, the buck does not stop there. In addition to all the signs, stickers, buttons, t-shirts, and (as of now) safety kits and planners, there are loads of other promotional products political candidates can use for the campaign trail. From flashlights to USBs, all one has to do is come up with a bright idea that voters will remember. (Did you catch that?)
